Audio Recording Mode | Record Audio Only

With Bandicam for Mac, you can record system audio, microphone input, or both without capturing the screen.

How to Record Audio Only on Mac

Follow the steps below to configure your audio settings and start recording:

Step 1. Install Bandicam from the Mac App Store and launch it.

Step 2. Select the 'Audio' recording option.

In Audio Recording mode, Bandicam records system audio, microphone input, or both without capturing your screen.

Step 3. Select the audio source and quality.

• Audio Source: Click the Speaker or Microphone icon to turn that audio source on or off. You can record system audio, your voice, or both.
• Audio Quality: Choose an audio quality from Normal (128 Kbps) to Very High (320 Kbps). Higher bitrates improve sound quality but increase file size.

To use a different microphone, open Settings and select it from the microphone list.

Step 4. Click the ● REC button to begin recording.

The sound bars move whenever Bandicam detects audio.

Step 5. Click the Pause button to pause or resume recording, then click the Stop button when you are finished.

When you stop recording, Bandicam automatically saves the audio file.

Step 6. Review and manage the recorded audio file.

The audio output list appears automatically after recording stops.

• Transcript: Use AI to convert speech to text.
• File options: Play, open in Finder, delete, or share the selected file.
• Trim Audio: Remove unwanted parts of the recording.
• Get Share Link: Upload the file to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive and copy a shareable link.

Why is there no sound in my recording?

Make sure the correct audio output and microphone input devices are selected and their volume levels are turned up.
