Bandicam for Mac offers a 'Window' mode that lets you capture a single app, browser window, or the currently active window—keeping your screen recording clean and distraction-free.


How to Record a Specific Window on Mac

Step 1. Install Bandicam from the Mac App Store and launch it.


Step 2. Select the 'Window' mode, choose the target window, and configure the settings.

  • Background: Turn on this option to include the background when recording the selected window.
  • Cursor and Audio: Use the icons shown below to capture your mouse cursor or record your voice. System audio is recorded by default. » Learn more about audio settings

Step 3. Click the ● REC button to begin recording.

Step 4. Click the ❚❚ Pause button to pause/resume, and press the Stop button to finish the recording.

  • While recording in window mode, the controls are available in your Mac's top menu bar.
  • Alternatively, you can switch back to the Bandicam window and click the Pause/Stop button there.

Step 5. Stop recording and review the recorded video file.

After you stop recording, the output video list window will immediately appear.

  • Click the Transcript tab to convert the selected video to text.
  • You can open the video in Finder, delete it, send it via AirDrop, or share it.
  • Click Trim Video to remove unwanted sections, or Get Share Link to create a shareable link.
