What is the difference between [High-Speed Mode] and [Encoding Mode]?
High-Speed mode in Bandicut lets you cut and join videos while minimizing re-encoding. It’s extremely fast and preserves the original quality in the parts that are not re-encoded.
With [High-Speed mode], you can quickly cut/join videos without fully converting (encoding) and without decreasing the original quality.
With [Encoding mode], you can convert (encode) videos according to your configuration (codec and quality), which takes longer but allows you to change size/format/quality. » [Encoding mode] Details
Comparison between [High-Speed mode] and [Encoding mode]
Note: High-Speed mode is not available with PCM Blu-ray audio.
How does High-Speed mode work?
Bandicut’s High-Speed mode uses a technique called stream copy. It quickly edits your video by directly copying the footage between keyframes, which means there's no re-encoding and no loss in video quality.
To ensure your cut is perfectly frame-accurate at the beginning and end, Bandicut will re-encode the small sections between your selected cut points and the nearest keyframes. This method allows you to cut your video precisely while preserving its original quality. For the best results, we recommend using High-Speed Mode whenever it's available.
I can't use High-Speed mode. What should I do?
You can usually use High-Speed mode when you cut a single video. For joining multiple videos, High-Speed mode is available only when all formats (Video resolution, codec, etc.) are exactly the same.
If you can't use High-Speed mode, please use [Encoding mode] of Bandicut.
