How to Record Webcam Video on Mac

This method focuses on capturing only your webcam feed, which is perfect for video logs, personal messages, or self-introductions.

Step 1. Install Bandicam from the Mac App Store and launch it.

Step 2. Select the 'Webcam' recording option.

Step 3. Check your camera and audio settings.

A preview window will appear showing your webcam feed. Before you record, check these settings:

  • Camera Source: Click the camera name to switch between your built-in MacBook camera, an iPhone, or any external USB webcam you have connected.
  • Audio: Ensure that both system sounds (speakers) and your microphone are enabled (or disabled) as needed.

Step 4. Click the ● REC button to begin recording.

Step 5. Click the ❚❚ Pause button to pause/resume, and press the ■ Stop button to finish the recording.

  • While recording in webcam mode, the controls are available in your Mac's top menu bar.
  • Alternatively, you can switch back to the Bandicam window and click the Pause/Stop button there.

Step 6. Stop recording and review the recorded video file.

After you stop recording, the output video list window will immediately appear.

  • After selecting a video, use the buttons to Open in Finder, Delete it, Send it via AirDrop, or Share it through the macOS menu.
  • To remove unwanted sections, click the "Trim video" button.
