Bandicam Company LLC ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information for the macOS version of Bandicam Screen Recorder (the "App"), distributed through the Apple Mac App Store.


Information We Collect

For the macOS version of Bandicam distributed through the Apple Mac App Store, we do not collect personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, or payment information) via the App itself. Purchases, licensing, and subscriptions are handled directly by Apple. We do not receive or store your Apple ID, email address, or billing details from Apple.

We may collect anonymous, non-personally identifiable technical data ("Usage Data") to improve the App, such as:

  • macOS version and hardware model
  • App usage statistics (e.g., feature usage frequency)
  • Crash or error logs (anonymized)
This Usage Data is collected solely to analyze performance, diagnose problems, and improve the functionality and user experience of the App. It is not linked to you personally.

Separately from the App, when you interact with our websites or online services, you may voluntarily provide your email address and related information so we can provide support or administer those services. Email

We collect your email address when you choose to provide it in connection with our Sites or Services (e.g., contacting support by email or via the AI chatbot, registering for our forum/community, or responding to surveys, feedback forms, or other web forms). We use your email address to provide and administer the Services: to respond to your requests and provide support, verify identity and manage accounts, send transactional or service-related notices (such as receipts, license information, security or administrative messages, critical bug notices, or important updates/releases), and help prevent abuse. Where required by law, we may also use your email address to send optional customer research or marketing communications (e.g., satisfaction surveys, product feedback requests, or review invitations). You can opt out of these non-transactional emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting our support team. Even if you opt out, we may still send transactional or service-related emails. Note: When you purchase the macOS App through the Apple Mac App Store, we do not receive your Apple ID or email address from Apple.


AI Chatbot

Our AI-powered chatbot is provided to help answer questions and route you to support more quickly. Chatbot responses are generated by automated systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. The AI chatbot does not constitute professional advice and does not create contractual commitments on behalf of the Company. When you use the AI chatbot, we collect the content of your messages (including any files or screenshots you choose to submit), timestamps, and basic technical information (such as browser type and approximate location derived from IP) to provide, secure, and improve the Service. Where permitted by law, we may review chatbot logs for troubleshooting, quality assurance, abuse prevention, and to improve user support. If you prefer not to share information via the chatbot, please contact our support team through email instead. Please do not share sensitive personal information through the chatbot (for example: full payment card numbers, passwords or recovery codes, government ID numbers, health information, or data about children). We retain chatbot transcripts only as long as necessary to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, and then delete or de-identify them in accordance with our retention practices. You may request access to or deletion of your chatbot transcripts by contacting our support team (subject to applicable law).


Cookies

Our website may use cookies to improve user experience, store preferences, and analyze traffic. Cookies are not used within the macOS app itself.


Children

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.


Third-Party Services

The macOS version of Bandicam does not use third-party APIs. Your recordings are saved locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.


Screen Recording Data

The macOS version of Bandicam collects screen video data through the screen recording functionality. This data is used solely for the purpose of creating a media file as requested by the user. The screen recording is not transmitted, stored externally, or used for analytics, tracking or any other purposes.


Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the integrity and security of the anonymized technical data we collect. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems completely.


User Rights

As we do not collect personally identifiable information, we do not maintain user profiles. If you believe that any of your data (such as in an anonymized crash report) has been inadvertently collected and you wish for it to be deleted, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to identify and remove it if possible.


Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
