How to schedule recording with Windows Task Scheduler

"Bandicam Scheduled Recording" is available only when Bandicam is running. If you use the "command-line parameters of Bandicam (/record, /stop, /shutdown)" and "Windows Task Scheduler," you can automatically record your computer screen even when Bandicam is not running. (It’s recommended for advanced users.)

  1. Click on Start, type in "Task Scheduler," and click "Task Scheduler."

  2. [General] tab: Click "Create Task..." and type in the name of task such as "Bandicam start recording." Then, check "Run with highest privileges."

  3. [Triggers] tab: Enter the desired start time of the recording ("On a schedule" or "At log on").

  4. [Actions] tab: Click "Browse..." and select the executable file (C:\Program Files\Bandicam\bdcam.exe). Then, enter "/record /nosplash" in "Add arguments." » Command-Line Parameters

  5. You have now created a Scheduled Task to start recording automatically.

Follow the steps below to stop recording automatically with Windows Task Scheduler:

  1. In the same way as above, create a "Bandicam stop recording" task.

    • [General] tab: Type "Bandicam stop recording" + check "Run with highest privileges."
    • [Triggers] tab: Enter the desired start time of the recording (Select One time, Daily, Weekly or Monthly)
    • [Actions] tab: Select "bdcam.exe" + type "/stop"

  2. If you use Windows Task Scheduler like above, you can start and stop recording automatically at any time you want.


Precautions when scheduling recording

  1. Select the "Never" option in the Power & sleep settingsview if you want to record a computer for a long period of time.
  2. The "/record" command is available when the 'Screen Recording Mode (Rectangle on a screen, Fullscreen, or Around mouse)' is set.
    To use the "/record" command with the 'Device Recording Mode,' check the Save webcam video as separate file (.mp4)view option and set the 'Screen Recording Mode'.

  3. To hide the recording status bar, select the "Fullscreen" option under the Around mouseview mode.

  4. The scheduled recording function will not work on a remote computer when the remote connection is lost.
  5. The scheduled recording function will not work when a certain program blocks Bandicam. If you don't use a microphone, please uncheck the Record soundview option.
  6. To always check the recording status of Bandicam, add the Bandicam icon to the system tray (notification area)view.
