Re: HDMI-recording stopped

Hello,
When you're seeing my last post, is there a reason for that message?

Re: HDMI-recording stopped

Hello, Thank you for your answer. It helped me with my second received message (Failed to initialize the video capture device.).
But my earlier problem is stil not resolved.

That message is ==> "The recording has stopped because the audio device is unavailable."
You did already give some hints, but it does not help. Sorry...
Do you have more hints?
Thank you. Wim

Re: HDMI-recording stopped

Hello,

The issue may be related to Windows temporarily disconnecting the USB audio device rather than Bandicam itself.
If possible, please try the following Windows settings:
- Disable USB power saving
(Device Manager → USB Root Hub / Generic USB Hub → Power Management)
- Disable USB selective suspend
(Control Panel → Power Options → Advanced settings → USB selective suspend → Disabled)

These settings may help prevent the audio device from disconnecting during recording.

Thank you.

Re: HDMI-recording stopped

Thank you for your intervention!

After much searching, I have found the cause. There is no problem with the Bandicam, but with a bad contact in the plug of the HDMI cable to the Video Capture...

Your contributions were very useful because something was also wrong with my settings!

Thank you very much!

Re: HDMI-recording stopped

Hello,
On May 27, 2026 I reported a Bandicam-problem with the audio device. The message was (translated in English):
==> "The recording has stopped because the audio device is unavailable."
I have applied your ideas that you forwarded to me on May 28, 2026. Thank you for it.

After adjusting these USB settings in Windows 11, I have unfortunately been experiencing the same problem again for the past few days:
Bandicam stops recording the HDMI signal via video capture. The error message is the same (see attachment): ==> "The recording has stopped because the audio device is unavailable."

Now I am out of ideas...
Perhaps you do?

Wim

Re: HDMI-recording stopped

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us again.

To determine whether the issue is coming from the playback (speaker) or recording (microphone) side, please try disabling them one by one directly from the Bandicam main interface:
Image

1. Test by disabling the speaker:
  • Click the Speaker icon arrow at the top of the Bandicam window.
  • Select Disable speaker from the drop-down menu and test recording to see if the error still occurs.
2. Test by disabling the microphone:
  • Re-enable the speaker, then click the Microphone icon arrow at the top.
  • Select Disable microphone from the menu and test recording again.
This test will help us find the cause.
Please send your results along with screenshots of your Bandicam audio settings to bandicam@bandicam.com so our development team can check the details.

Thank you.
