Best practice settings for getting the highest quality recordings from movie streaming services?

I use Bandicam to record movies that I have already purchased. What settings should I tweak to get the highest quality settings from Bandicam recordings?

I have a Intel i5 10400 and a GTX 1050 TI.

I use H264 NVENC as my format with 100 quality and 24fps.

I have a 4k monitor that I record on but I only capture at 1080p since that is what Amazon Prime will stream at (can't do 4lk on a PC browser).

I use the Edge browser and have purchased the HEVC codec from the Microsoft Store.

Anything else you would recommend?

Netflix will only stream at 720p... Maybe if I turn Hardware Acceleration back on it will go back to 1080p but then I will get a black box...

Anyone know how I can get better quality from Netflix and other streaming sites?

Hi there, why are you recording in 24p mode, your video will just look jerky and not naturally smooth motion.

They say that everyone should record stuff in 24p mode just like in movies to get a cinematic look, but who wants a cinematic look with jerky video playback, if you choose CPU h264, 100% quality, 60fps, MP4, Constant Bitrate and Constant frame rate you will get the best video quality.

I think your current settings are fine for Bandicam, especially when using H.264 NVENC. If you want smoother images, you can try increasing the fps to 30 or 60 instead of 24. Regarding Netflix, it is true that on PC there is a resolution limit, especially when watching via browser. You can try using the Netflix app on Windows instead of Edge, which usually has better support for 1080p. Hardware Acceleration should be enabled, but if you still have the black screen error, you can try updating the GPU driver to see if it improves.

If Netflix is limited to 720p in your browser, try using the official Windows app and make sure you’re on the highest plan. Also check your internet speed and set playback quality to “High” in account settings.
