Sound not working during playback

Recently when working with .mkv files I'm no longer hearing sound when playing them inside of Bandicut. This is during Join AND Cut. If I play the file in a video player it has sound. And after cutting and/or merging it has sound in a video player but during playback inside Bandicut I'm not getting any sound. The volume is up and I've downloaded the latest version as of today: 4.0.1.2516

This is happening on a ton of files. Is there a setting or something that can cause this?

For anyone else who runs into this problem, it was a windows setting. Apparently, Windows can turn volume off on specific apps. Settings-> System -> Sound -> Volume mixer.

Somehow Bandicut had been muted in that setting.
