Render / Encoding Speed HEVC

Mon Jun 16, 2025 9:49 pm

Hi,

A few years ago I found the render speed from Bandicut in HEVC was good.
I used a RTX2060 and to render / encoding a 4K-File the speed was about 25 to 30 fps.
It was really good!

The quality is very good, with a reasonable data rate! (I use only 100% quality-setting)

Equal to or more than in VEGAS or other programs.

I tuned up my PC to RTX4070Super and now to RTX5080. (also the CPU, PCIe, RAM-speed over 5000 M/T)

All programs - like Vegas or Topaz for example - quit this with a strong improvement of render speed.

But not Bandicut?

At the moment I render a 4K-File 60fps to HEVC with Bandicut and the Speed is:

0,43 x 60 = 26 fps

-> Task-Manager say: CPU: 10% and GPU 25% ??

Why do I have to wait many hours?

What do i have to do?

Kind regards

It seems Bandicut isn’t fully utilizing your new GPU. Have you checked if hardware acceleration (NVENC) is enabled in Bandicut settings? Also, make sure you’re using the latest GPU drivers and Bandicut version, as older versions may not support newer GPUs well. Finally, you might try lowering the quality setting slightly to see if it improves speed without major loss in quality.
