Minecraft recording 1.17 issues

Thu Jun 24, 2021 11:47 pm

Hey guys hope you can help. I cannot record Minecraft on the latest update. I'm using Bandicam version 5.1.1.1837 and Minecraft is on 1.17. Basically what happens is if I run Bandicam at the same time as Minecraft and then go full screen, I can only see the bottom right hand corner of the game, the rest is black. To make matters worse I also cannot record anything when it is like this. I've used Bandicam for years and never had issues until now, It's been very helpful, just hope we can fix this issue? I'll send attatch an image of the screen so you can see what I mean.

Hello Master of Mystery,

We were not able to recreate your issue with Minecraft 1.17 Java version.

It might be a problem with the graphics driver.
Please uninstall the graphics driver completely.

And then, please install the latest version of the graphics driver and try recording again.

If it does not seem to help, please let us know if you have the same issue with the H264(CPU) codec.

Thank you.

Hey, this did not work haha. I no longer have the issue of the black screen but It won't record now and the game seems to be lagging. Also if I close down Bandicam and then try to go back full screen with MC it has the same screen issues.
I did have a go with the H264(CPU) as well but same problem.
If it helps my graphics card is: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M.

Hello Master of Mystery,

Thank you for your feedback.
We've tested again and we were able to recreate your issue on GTX 960M laptop PC.
Please follow the steps below to avoid your issue.

1. Run the game and change it to the full screen mode.
2. Press Alt+Tab and run Bandicam.
3. Click the game screen and start recording by pressing the hotkey.

If you run Bandicam after the game is shown in full screen mode, you will record it successfully.
We hope it works.

Thank you.

Hey guys, Okay we are making progress here I think. So the black screen issue is solved using the method above but I still cannot record or take snapshot captures. I'll attach my Bandicam video settings, perhaps one of them is wrong.

Hello Master of Mystery,

Thank you for getting back to us.
There is nothing wrong with settings.

We've confirmed that the FPS number appears on the game screen after following the steps above and there were no problems with recording and image capture.
Do you see FPS numbers on the game screen?
We look forward to your reply.

Thank you.

No worries, Thanks for continuing to help out.

so yes the green FPS number does appear on the game screen but I cannot record anything. I have tried the hotkey with other buttons but they don't work either.

Don't know if that helps?

I have tried using display capture and that works but the quality is way way too low. See we run a YT channel and Minecraft is our primary source of content, so Game capture is kind of essential.
I have updated Java and all my drivers and Bandicam. Debating uninstalling Minecraft itself and redownloading it. Don't know if anyone has found a solution since yet? I'm still stumped

Okay so we have fixed the issue/issues.
It seems there were a few:
-Firstly when I updated my Bandicam it appears to have copied a few files so was possibly clashing with the new updated files.
-2nd for some reason, Bandicam was hooking to Minecraft as a Direct11X even though it is an OpenGL game.
-It also appears, for some reason, that a windows update I did seemed to help? Not sure why that is.

we Uninstalled Bandicam and then made the windows update. We then cleared my PC of any reference of Bandicam and reinstalled it, then we unticked Hooking for Direct11X and then it worked. Hopefully this will help anyone else with the same issue and you guys at Bandicam if there's any updates needed to fix the hooking issue.
Thanks for all the help and responding to my questions, glad to have Bandicam back running again :D
