Video does not record when launched from Task Scheduler

  • Windows Version: Windows 10
  • Graphic card model: Intel UHD 620
  • Bandicam version: 5.0.1.1799
  • Bandicam mode: Screen Recording Mode
  • Recording Target: Everything, aka black box recording
Description
I have Bandicam configured in Task Scheduler to run in black box mode, as described at https://www.bandicam.com/how-to-record- ... -24-hours/. The resulting recordings are audio only. When I open Bandicam in normal mode, the recordings have both video and audio. When I open Bandicam from cmd.exe with '"C:\Program Files (x86)\Bandicam\bdcam.exe" /nosplash /record', the recordings also have both video and audio.

I have gone back to the Black Box instructions to make sure my configuration matched it perfectly. I changed my video settings from MP4 to AVI, and the problem persisted.

EDIT 2021-1-27: The previously reported issue with Around Mouse not sticking, which I have edited out, was happening because I had Bandicam running in the background (/nosplash) with different settings.

Hello katriel,

You need to select the bdcam.exe file directly after clicking the "Browse..." button on the "Edit Action" window.

We've confirmed that your settings are correct.
Do you mean that Bandicam is run without the splash screen when you sign in to the Windows but it doesn't start recording?

Thank you for the good clarifying question. That's not exactly right.
- Does Bandicam run when I sign in to Windows? Yes
- Without the splash screen? Yes
- Does it fail to record? No

But: when the recording is finished, it only contains audio. There is no video.

That's different from when I start a recording using the GUI or the command line, in which case the recording has both video and audio.

1. Didn't you turn off your monitor?
If the monitor was turned off when Bandicam was launched, Bandicam cannot record the computer screen.

2. Do you use 'Remote Desktop Connection' to record a remote computer?
If you try to record a remote computer using 'Remote Desktop Connection', it might happen.

No, my monitor was on the entire time.

No, I haven't tried using Remote Desktop Connection.

Please uncheck "Use enhanced capture method (faster, Windows 8 or above)" and try recording again.

I have just tried updating to version and unchecking "Use enhanced capture method." The same problem persists.

Could you give us additional information regarding your issue so that we can investigate further?

1. Were you in front of your PC at the moment the recording just started? Were you able to use your keyboard and mouse at that time?
2. Was the display turned off at that time?
