This is my personal update of this site: http://www.bandicam.com/support/tips/best-codec/.
So I made some recordings with the different codecs, with 100% Quality, 30 FPS, 1 Minute recording:
Rectangle Screen Recording ( 1024x768 ):
RGB24: 4,01 GB
YV12: 1,99 GB (Somehow Windows Media Player isn't able to even play this file...)
Motion JPEG: 650 MB
MPEG-1: 6,87 MB
Xvid: 5,77 MB
H.264 CUDA: 5,65 MB
H.264 NVENC: 4,66 MB
Recording 1 Minute of a Movie (with directX / OpenGL window recording) ( 1024x576 ):
RGB24: 2,96 GB
YV12: 1,48 GB
Motion JPEG: 284 MB
MPEG-1: 32,1 MB
Xvid: 37,2 MB
H.264 CUDA: 46,7 MB
H.264 NVENC: 40,7 MB
[Just telling, in my opinion h.264 had the worst quality of them all]
(Except for the RGB24, YV12 and the H.264 codec, this is nearly the same as on the Website.)
