Game Crash After Recording

Tue Apr 15, 2025 4:21 am

Hey there,

I've been experiencing an issue with Bandicam on Game Recording Mode. The game crashes as soon as I press the hotkey to stop recording the video. I've also noticed a few game lags, and none of this used to happen before. This has been happening with one specific game (Batman: Arkham Knight). As the game crashes I'm forced to stop recording directly from the app, and the footage ends up corrupted, but Bandicam will always let me fix it and recover it anyway. Still, I figure this is no ideal method especially due to the lagging that is now occasionally present.

Already tried updating my graphics card and Bandicam to their respective latest versions (v8.1.1.2518), changing codecs from AV1 to HEVC and H264 (AMD VCE/VCN), but it did not solve the problem.

More info:
- Windows 11 Pro version
- Graphic card model: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
- CPU: 12th Gen Intel i7-12700F 2.10 GHz
- RAM: 16 GB 2667Mhz

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello,

Are you using F12 as the hotkey for starting and stopping the recording?
If you try changing the hotkey to a different key, or if you don’t use a hotkey at all, does the game still crash?
Also, could you let us know if you experience the same issue when using the H264 (CPU) codec?

As for the lag, please refer to our FAQ for additional troubleshooting steps.

Thank you.

Hey,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I changed the hotkey from F12 to CTRL so it wouldn't conflict with a mod I set up for the game. Still, the game keeps crashing even if I pause the recording using Bandicam's REC button. The 'stop recording' command will always shut the game down before Bandicam actually stops recording the video, which requires me to manually do it from the app window.

I also think it's worth mentioning my keyboard leds will sort of dim in-game while my codec is HEVC. I tried using the H264 (CPU) codec, the leds remain as they should, and the game also stops crashing as I stop recording. Still, the footage heavily drops in quality and FPS. I'm aiming for max quality gameplay videos (4K 60FPS), already managed to record plenty of those with Bandicam before, which is why I'm clueless as to why it suddenly started acting like this.

Hello,

We’re sorry, but at the moment, the only available solutions we can offer are listed on the FAQ page we shared in our previous response regarding lag:
https://www.bandicam.com/faqs/how_to_re ... recording/

Additionally, you may find the following page helpful, as it explains the best codec settings for recording:
https://www.bandicam.com/best-codec-for ... -software/

If the game crashing issue didn’t occur in the past, we recommend trying an older version of Bandicam to see if that resolves the problem:

We’ve forwarded your report to our development team.

Thank you.
