Black Side Bars after Recording

Thu Sep 19, 2024 6:00 pm

I need some help with Bandicam. I've just bought the Lifetime version and I just want to use the application to record my screen for personal use. I won't be using Bandicam to upload videos online or to stream anything.

I have 4 screens and I want to use the feature to record each screen only when the cursor is on that screen, not all 4 at once. I've tried the option to record "Around Mouse' and it works perfectly. The only issue I am having is that the saved video contains black bars on each side, so it is not showing on its full screen resolution.

I've tried changing around some of the format options but it never works. My screen is a QHD 2K Screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 and I want the output video also to have a 2K resolution, 1080p is not enough for me. Therefore I set the video resolution like this:
Video --> Format --> Settings --> Video Size --> Custom (2560x1440). I have also tried the Video size 'Full Size' and it still shows the bars.

Next when choosing the recording method 'Around Mouse', I've tried using the option 'Full Screen' and also 'Custom Size (2560X1440)'. But no matter which one I use, every time the video output shows black bars on the left and right of the video. I have also tried using just the 'Full Screen' Recording for just one display and it happens the same.

How can I get rid of these black bars without loosing quality in my recording? I want it to be in 2k resolution.

Hello Luina,

It seems the recorded video was saved at 2560x1440, but when you play it back in VLC media player, it fits the screen height.
If you choose the 'Automatically hide the taskbar' option in the Personalization > Taskbar settings and select 'Fullscreen' from VLC's Video menu, it should display correctly.

Thank you.
