How to record in order to share to (web) whatsapp?

I tried recording and sharing to (web) whatsapp, but it gives an error that the format is not compatible with
whatsapp when I try to drag the video from the Windows Explrer into (web) whatsapp. I tried different settings. I tried recording in mp4 and also AVI format.

The specific error whatsapp gives is: The file that you try to share is not supported.
It also gives me the error with mp4 format, a format that should be supported normally by whatsapp....

We could reproduce the issue you reported.
Please use Bandicut ( https://www.bandicam.com/bandicut-video-cutter/ ) to share your video via Whatsapp.

Import the video file on Bandicut -> click on the Start button, and select Encoding mode and settings -> change the FPS value to "30" -> click on the Start button.


We have also forwarded this issue to the Bandicam development team.
We will get back to you as soon as we have released the fixed version.

I have experienced this same issue for a while. I presume it might be something to do with metadata in the file rather than the format itself, as Bandicut works. I have used Bandicut as a workaround for now.

Is there any update as to whether the fix will be in soon?

If you're still facing issue after recording in MP4 and AVI, try using a video converter to ensure the file is optimized for WhatsApp. Sometimes, even if the format is correct, the bitrate or resolution could be too high. Keeping the resolution below 720p can help with uploading issues as well.
