Recording Software inside Bandicam

Tue Mar 11, 2025 12:08 am

Hi there, i would just like to know what Encoder is being used under the hood with Bandicam for recording videos.

I record in 60fps, 100% quality, h264 CPU, MP4, 30,000kbps Bitrate, CBR and CFR and my videos always record perfectly, however the video bitrate is all over the place, but that is due to the quality of the image that is being displayed on my laptop screen.

Cheers

Hello,

When recording with Bandicam, the encoder that is used is the one you select in the Bandicam format settings.
Please check the link below to compare the features of each encoder and find the one that suits your needs.

Thank you.

Hi again, i use the MP4 container setting which has H264 CPU, there is no option for x264 external codec unless i select to record in AVI container.
Everyone knows that the x264 (AVC) and the x265 (HEVC) are the best encoders for encoding video, far better than any of the Hardware based (GPU) encoders.
Why is there no external encoders for the MP4 container export settings.
It all seems to be very confusing, and i am a video editor.

Cheers
