Colors look darker when I record in higher resolutions?

I have noticed that when I record videos in higher resolutions, the colors look darker (especially if it's a bright green, as shown on my monitor but when the video is shown, i have noticed that it's darker.). However, when I do it in lower resolutions (under HD) the colors all look correct (the same ones I see on my monitor). Why is this happening? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to do an HD recording with the correct colors (I'm using the free version btw)? I appreciate your help

I have been using H264 on my NVIDIA GPU, but for some reason, the colors look darker, but they look the same as my monitor when its a lower res

We've noticed the color differences with H264.
We recommend using a lossless codec like YV12 or RGB24, as it preserves the original colors accurately.

But that's the thing, I'm gonna have to pay for that. I find it weird that even Windows' own Xbox game recorder is capable of more accurate colors
