September 9, 2011 (WML CLOUD) -- Bandizip is a robust archive manager which allows you to preview the list of compressed files before extraction and provides the utility to create self extracting EXE files.
Bandizip supports: ZIP, 7Zip, RAR, ALZ, EGG, TAR, BH, LZH, GZ, BZ2, ISO, CAB, WIM, XZ, ARJ, and Z archives files. Bandizip has a fast algorithm for compression & extraction of archives. It supports “Drag and Drop” and provides preview within Windows right-click menu for files within a compressed archive before extraction.
When you archive files, Bandizip skips the files which cannot be compressed to speed up the compression process. You can can extract files from several compression formats by opening the file in Bandizip and selecting the Extract option.
Alternatively, you can use the right-click menu to extract the files and also see the files inside a compressed archive before starting the extraction process.
You can also check the archives for errors via the Test option from the main interface of Bandizip.
Similarly, to compress files and folders, launch Bandizip, add files /folders via right-click menu, select a compression level, split size, password for the archive (optional) and click Start to begin compression. To create a self extracting EXE file archives, enable the Create Self Extracting file option. All EXE files can be extracted by double-clicking on the EXE file.
At the moment Bandizip only creates archives in ZIP, 7Zip and EXE formats. However, it can extract compress files from almost any format including ZIP, 7Z, RAR, ISO, etc.
It must be noted that some options will have to enabled from Settings. This menu can be accessed from Options drop down menu. For example, you can go to Options ?> Settings and enable “Preview Archive” from Context Menu tab. This will enable you to preview files from compressed archives in Windows right-click menu.
Likewise, you can associate file types with BandZip from the association tab. Other options such as fast drag and drop extraction will also have to be enabled from options within Settings.
